Another celebrity is being attacked for their weight. This time, Pink was the subject of ridicule following a photo of her that emerged from a cancer benefit she attended to honor a friend of hers.
Unlike other celebrities who don’t say anything when they are attacked for their personal looks, Pink took the bull by the horns and addressed the nasty twitter comments saying the focus on her weight was of more importance than the cancer benefit she attended for her friend, Dr. Maggie DiNome, who was given the Duke Award for her efforts and contributions to the eradication of cancer.
Pink stated,
“While I admit that that dress didn’t photograph as well as it did in my kitchen, I will also admit that I felt very pretty. In fact, I feel beautiful. So, my good and concerned peoples, please don’t worry about me. I’m not worried about me. And I’m not worried about you either:)… I am perfectly fine, perfectly happy, and my healthy, voluptuous and crazy strong body is having some much deserved time off. Thanks for your concern. Love, cheesecake.”
Following some nasty comments including one that Pink retweeted to her more than six million twitter fans saying, ‘Fat Bitch loose (sic) weight,’ the singer responded by tweeting the following messages to her followers.
“Willow said to me the other day whilst grabbing my belly-“mama-why r u so squishy?”And I said..”b/cuz I’m happy baby”
“and my hubby says “it’s just more to love baby” (and then I smack his hand off my booty cause we’re in a supermarket)”
She then continued to retweet accepting messages from fans and photos of fans who claim they ‘have more to love.’
Pink looked fabulous in the dress. Fat shaming has become very popular – with Kelly Clarkson having to defend her weight to writers at the NY Times, along with millions of trolls on twitters. So we have to ask – what will it take to leave these very success, amazing woman alone? Will we ever get to that point – where it just doesn’t matter?
